- What is Bajan food?
- Bajan means Barbadian. It is a distinct Caribbean cuisine built on West African cooking, British colonial habits and later arrivals from India and China. The signature is Bajan seasoning, a wet green herb paste rubbed into meat and fish hours before cooking, which makes the food herbaceous rather than smoky. It is not the same as Jamaican food. - Our schedule is on the Find us page, showing where we are parked today and for the rest of the month. Times can shift with the weather, so check our Facebook or Instagram on the day if conditions look marginal.
- Which towns do you serve?
- Serving Bloomfield, Hartford, West Hartford, Windsor and towns across Hartford County. We are a mobile trailer rather than a fixed restaurant, so the location changes. Check the schedule before setting out.
- Can I order ahead?
- Yes. The menu and ordering are on our Cash App page — the Order now button anywhere on this site will take you there. Check where we are before you order, so you collect from the right place.
- Do you cater private events?
- Yes. Call 860-281-2338 and we will talk through what you need. There is more on the catering page.
- Do you take card?
- Yes, we take cards as well as cash.
- What should I order if I have never eaten Bajan food?
- A plate with BBQ chicken, rice and peas and macaroni pie, and add fish cakes. That is the honest introduction. Pudding and souse is the thing to try once you already know you like Bajan food.
- Do you have vegetarian options?
Coming soon. Several sides are made without meat, but we want to confirm how each one is cooked before calling anything vegetarian. Ask at the window and we'll tell you straight.
- Can you tell me about allergens?
- Ask us and we will tell you what is in any dish. Everything is prepared in a shared kitchen, so we cannot guarantee a dish is free of any particular allergen. Fish, shellfish, wheat, dairy and peanuts are all used in Bajan cooking.
- Are you open in the winter?

Catering starts at 25 people and $400. Notice, deposit and how far we travel are coming soon — call and we'll talk it through.
